How we score ranked profiles.

The BSU public-data score is a 0–100 comparison of dated public profile signals. It is reproducible, but it is not an independent inspection or a guarantee of workmanship.

40

Rating

The Google rating, scaled linearly from 0–5 stars to 0–40 points. A 4.5-star workshop gets 36 pts. A 3.0-star workshop gets 24.

30

Review depth

Log-10 scaled review count. 10 reviews = 10 pts, 100 = 20 pts, 1,000+ = 30 pts. This prevents drowning out honest small shops.

15

Completeness

3 points each for: phone, website, hours, main photo, and owner verification with BestServiceUAE.

15

Public-signal bonus

15 points at 4.5+ stars and 50+ reviews; 10 at 4.0+ and 20+; otherwise scaled by rating and review count.

The 5 steps

From raw data
to final score.

01

Collect public business-profile data

The current snapshot was captured on April 8, 2026. It includes public ratings, review counts, categories, hours, photos, and contact details. This is not a live feed, so visitors should confirm current details before booking.

02

Calculate the rating score

Google rating translates linearly into a 0–40 point contribution. A perfect 5.0 earns 40 points, 4.0 earns 32, 3.0 earns 24, and so on. Unrated workshops contribute 0 here.

03

Measure review depth (logarithmically)

We use a log-10 scale for review volume, giving a maximum of 30 points. This prevents megacorps with 10,000 reviews from drowning out honest independent shops with 100 real ones. 10 reviews = 10 pts, 100 = 20 pts, 1000 = 30 pts.

04

Check profile completeness

Up to 15 points are awarded: 3 each for a phone number, website, published hours, a main photo, and owner verification with BestServiceUAE. Missing data lowers completeness but does not prove poor service.

05

Apply the public-signal bonus

The public-signal bonus is 15 points at 4.5+ stars and 50+ public ratings, or 10 points at 4.0+ stars and 20+ public ratings. Below those thresholds it scales with both rating and rating count.

Tier breakdown

Five honest tiers.

Platinum
90 – 100

The score is 90 or higher under the published formula. This is a data tier, not a service guarantee.

Gold
75 – 89

The score is between 75 and 89. Compare recent reviews and obtain a quote before choosing.

Silver
60 – 74

The score is between 60 and 74. Check recent reviews and current workshop details before deciding.

Bronze
40 – 59

The score is between 40 and 59, usually reflecting thinner review or profile data.

Unrated
< 40

Insufficient data. Usually new workshops or ones with too few reviews to judge. Not "bad" — just unknown.

Index recovery experiment · released 2026-08-23

A controlled cohort, not a bulk-indexing switch.

We currently allow 250 selected garage profiles into the index-recovery cohort. Selection uses historical Google Search Console demand plus a page-level evidence gate: a resolved entity, address, coordinates, locally stored business-profile photo and a visible source ledger.

Inclusion is not an endorsement of service quality. Profiles outside the cohort remain accessible as noindex, follow pages while we compare index coverage and search performance before any wider release.

What we don't do

No games. No exceptions.

  • We don't take money for rankings. Period. Not under any label.
  • We don't mark up third-party ratings as AggregateRating. Visible Google averages are clearly attributed, dated public-source snapshots; BestServiceUAE currently has no first-party review corpus.
  • We don't scrape scrapable review text. Review counts and averages, yes. Individual review texts belong to Google.
  • We don't sell score changes. Businesses can report factual errors, but payment cannot alter the formula or ranking.
  • We don't hide the formula. Everything you just read is the entire algorithm. No AI black boxes, no secret weights.
